How can one know he is saved?
The message of how to be saved has to be a message of promise or hope. Especially if "unlimited" propitiation is true and yet not everyone is saved: unlimited propitiation means that Christ's death was a satisfaction of Divine justice for all sins of all people for all time.
How can one have assurance of salvation if the death of Christ has not secured it for everyone, and yet He died for everyone?
The content of saving
faith must be the promise of salvation to all who believe in Jesus
for it, since Christ died for all and all are not saved.
To
know that faith saves you is to believe God’s word that says faith
saves. Otherwise, if Christ died for all, and all are not saved, then
on what basis do you know you are saved, other than the promise of
Scripture? Doesn’t one have to know and believe the promise of
Scripture?
Luke 7:48 Then He said to her, "Your sins are forgiven." 49 And those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, "Who is this who even forgives sins?" 50 Then He said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace."
I know that I believe because I am persuaded and am in agreement with the revelation from God in Scripture about the way of salvation.
