Whose names are
not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, Revelation 17:8.
All who dwell on the earth will worship him,
whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from
the foundation of the world, Revelation 13:8.
The second reference identifies
the book of life with the "lamb slain."
I believe that here and in
the 17.8 reference that the prepositional phrase "from the foundation of
the world" modifies "written."
The idea would be that the
names of these people have not been written in the book from creation (from the
foundation of the world) to the time referenced (being the great tribulation
period); in other words, "from" has the idea of "since
then" to the time being referenced.
Another "from the
foundation" reference also has the idea of "since," being Luke
11.50: that the blood of all the prophets which was
shed from the foundation of the world may be required of this generation.
That generation of Israel
would suffer the consequences for all the prophets that were slain since the
foundation, that is, since the beginning of the world.
